School chaplains play a vital role in schools, providing pastoral care, social-emotional support, and a listening ear to students, staff, and families. We also run breakfast clubs, facilitate small group programs, and, most importantly, we are a safe and trusted person for kids to sit with, talk to, or just hang out when they need support.
Most people are not aware that chaplains rely on donations and fundraising, as the government funding only covers the cost of a chaplain being in the school for just one day a week. With the increasing needs of children and their families, having more time available to support the school community is essential. That’s why events like this are so important—not only to raise funds but also to create awareness of the work we do.
