All Ability Karaoke event strikes a chord in Gin Gin

Community members took centre stage last week as the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre hosted the first in a series of All Ability Karaoke events.
Created and run by Wade Smith of Smithies Karaoke and DJ Hire, the afternoon singalongs are free to attend with everyone invited to come along and belt out their own karaoke classic.
Wade said he had wanted to create more all ability events in the region and approached the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre as a potential venue option.
“I wanted to create something inclusive, fun and accessible for all, using my services to give back to the community and provide a safe, welcoming space where everyone can connect, sing and have a great time,” Wade said.
“Having the support of the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre means a great deal.
“Their backing has been invaluable in making this event possible, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside them to create something positive and inclusive for the community.”
Community and connection
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said it was wonderful to be able to support the initiative.
“Our neighbourhood centres are designed to be welcoming spaces for everyone to enjoy and these kinds of events are a great way to come together and have some fun,” Cr McPhee said.
“There are still three more events to come so don’t miss out on the chance to perform your favourite song or just come and dance along!”
Wade said those attending could look forward to an afternoon of fun, energy and community connection.
“Music and singing are things that bring people together and I believe everyone should have the chance to enjoy that experience,” he said.
“It’s all about creating a welcoming space where everyone can get involved, enjoy the music and share the joy of singing together.”
